Coal Mining is not sustainable

Coal mining impacts everyone, urban and rural.

Coal mining is “destroying the places that you love.”

Our unconscious cultural coal mining mission statement must be: “Mine Today. Pay Tomorrow.”

We are passing on the cost of today’s coal (today’s electricity) to future generations.

We are paying a long term price for a short term benefit.

We are telling our grandchildren and their grandchildren that we destroyed mountains and habitats so that we would stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Our addiction to fossil fuels and our delay in converting to clean renewable energy is destroying the land that we love.

Stop the addiction now.

With today’s technology, solar energy, wind energy, and geothermal heat pumps are affordable alternatives.
